Andrew F. Rhoden

Currently serving as the leader of the Horack Talley’s Sports Law practice, Andrew advises public and private universities regarding Title IX compliance and infractions. In addition, he represents college coaches throughout the country in areas such as career development services, marketing opportunities, and conflict management. 

Andrew has previous experience working on litigation teams focused on employment defense, corporate litigation, and white-collar crime defense throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. He was the also the founding chair of a successful sports law practice where he oversaw the full representation of college coaches for career development and the creation of compliance programs for universities. 

Prior to his legal career, Andrew was a football coach and director at both the collegiate and high school levels for over a decade. He has experience in all facets of the sports business realm in areas such as administration, compliance, marketing, and contract negotiations. Andrew’s other professional experience extends to working with a professional sports team and a number of NCAA Division I institutions in various capacities.

Andrew is actively involved at the American Bar Association where he is currently the Chair of the Law Student Professional Development Committee for the Criminal Justice Section and co-chairs the White-Collar Crime Diversity committee.

While in law school Andrew served as a federal judicial intern in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia for the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee.

He also served as a certified student attorney in Washington, D.C., where he represented indigent clients in civil matters and provided hundreds of hours of pro bono work. Andrew served in the Montgomery County (MD) State’s Attorney’s Office, where he worked on matters such as financial crimes, investigations, and theft. He also worked as a law clerk at one of the largest employment law firms in the country.

Andrew is a proud member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, where he served as the Marshal for the Brandeis Chapter at American University.

In his free time, he is professional photographer that has won many accolades for his work. Andrew was born in London, England, but grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida.
