Benjamin S. Horack, co-founder of Charlotte law firm Horack Talley, Pharr & Lowndes celebrated his 100th birthday on October 3, 2017. 10/4/2017

Ben Horack: A leader in our profession, our firm and our community.

In addition to Mr. Horack's expansive legal practice, he served as president to the Mecklenburg County Bar (1967-68) and notably assisted in the preparation of the City of Charlotte's first zoning ordinance (1958).

Mr. Horack continues to be active in his Charlotte retirement community as he enjoys oil painting, story-telling and his life-long hobby of writing verse.

On the occasion of his 100th birthday, he writes:

I rejoice I've reached this milestone
And am still above the fray-
Having overcome early challenges
Despite some minor decay.

Now that this milestone has been reached
Runneth over will be my cup.
I rejoice- because the good news is
I've got nowhere to go but up!
